Roads Landscaping Days

Volunteers from The Pursuit Christian Church gathered for two weekends at the Roads building for outdoor spring cleaning! A team of 18 church members removed planters, re-planted new plants, mulched and worked on general clean-up. Special thanks to Treemendous Landscape for helping with supplies for this project.

Third Annual Community Appreciation Event
February 11, 2010, Elizabeth Virrick Park, Coconut Grove

Our Third Annual Community Appreciation Event was a wonderful celebration - with nearly 150 people joining us throughout the day, including many community leaders, judges, volunteers and other community partners. Guests were treated to readings from Eve Ensler's newly released I Am an Emotional Creature, performed by our residents and a cast of community performers. During the event, we honored The Children's Trust and our health access partners. Special thanks to Bagel Emporium, Milam's Markets and the Elizabeth Virrick Park Staff who helped to sponsor this event.

Tu B'Shevat Landscaping Day
January 31, 2010, Casa Valentina

Tu B'Shevat is the Jewish holiday also known as the "New Year for Trees." In celebration of this day, a group of volunteers from Temple Beth Am and Ransom Everglades School spent a Sunday morning planting trees, shrubs and spreading mulch in Nicole's Garden at the Mundy Street building. It was a beautiful morning spent with a great group fo hardworking volunteers. Many thanks to Temple Beth Am members and Ransom Everglades students for their hard work; Fred Bunnell of Bunnell Services for donating the plants, mulch and many hours of labor prepping the project; and Casa Valentina staff and board members for joining in on the fun.
