Join the Visionary Campaign

A Casa Valentina Visionary is a donor who pledges a minimum of $1,000 to Casa Valentina. Since the fall of 2004, more than 200 Visionaries have pledged their support to Casa Valentina. These pioneering funders of Casa Valentina have set in motion a ground-breaking effort to help young women emerging from foster care in Miami-Dade County. Their initial support laid the foundation for Casa Valentina to plant permanent roots in the community, and their continued support today ensures that we can achieve our mission of helping young women transition successfully from foster care to independent living.

Contribute to the Casa Valentina Gift Card Collection

The next time you’re out shopping, purchase a small gift card at Target, Walmart, Kmart, Publix or Winn Dixie that our residents can use to buy essential start-up supplies for their apartments, such as bedding, pillows, towels, kitchen supplies, cleaning supplies, and other household items.

Take a Tour

Do you want to learn more about what it really means to age out of foster care? Do you wonder what a day in the life of a Casa Valentina resident is like? Do you want to find out how to get involved? Take a Casa Valentina “Walk A Mile In Her Shoes” Tour!

This special one-hour session is a great introduction for anyone who wants to learn about Casa Valentina for the first time and a valuable update for anyone already involved. At the tour, you will hear about our mission and goals, successes and challenges, and our vision for the future, and you will see the apartments where our residents live and the community room where they meet regularly for life skills and community workshops and other special events. Don’t miss this opportunity for an intimate and in-depth glimpse of Casa Valentina.

Volunteer

Join our “Moving Day” Team
When new residents move in, we need as many helping hands as possible to clean and prepare apartments, move personal belongings and purchase important supplies. Send us your contact information and we will get in touch with you the next time we need to put a Moving Day team together.

Join our “Casa Valentina “Curb Appeal” Team
Three to four times per year, we take time to make sure our two properties look as good on the outside as they do inside with landscaping, general property clean up, painting and other outdoor projects. Send us your contact information and we will get in touch with you the next time we need to put a Curb Appeal team together.

Organize a Fundraising Project

An unexpected trip to the emergency room or long-needed dental work can put our residents in debt in an instant, and college fees, text books and supplies cost hundreds of dollars each semester. Our residents, living on a meager monthly stipend from the state, struggle to pay for medical bills, school supplies and other unforseen expenses.
