Casa Valentina's Director of Supervision and Research, Sharon Katz, was recenly honored by the Miami-Dade Community Based Care Alliance for her service to foster youth.

The Alliance presented Sharon with its Community Partners Award, in appreciation of her "unfaltering commitment and support of the youth in the foster care community and for ensuring that they are prepared for their successful transition to adulthood.

"We are so proud of Sharon, and so excited that her excellent work is being recognized throughout the community.

The Alliance was established in 2000 as a forum where the child welfare community, system stakeholders and community partners can work together to improve outcomes for children and families in Miami-Dade County.
