Eve Ensler book event postponed.
Casa Valentina and Books and Books are disappointed to announce that the March 23rd Eve Ensler book event at Temple Judea has been postponed due to unforeseen circumstances related to Ms. Ensler. We are in the process of rescheduling this event and will announce a future date as soon as possible.

Both of Casa Valentina's properties have a new look for spring!
At the Grove building, a group of volunteers from Temple Beth Am and Ransom Everglades school spent a Sunday morning planting trees and shrubs; and spreading mulch. Special thanks to Bunnell Services for spending many hours of labor prepping for the project and donating the plants and mulch.
In the Roads, volunteers from The Pursuit Christian Church spent two weekends on several landscaping projects including removing planters, planting new plants, mulching and general clean-up. Special thanks to Treemendous Landscape for helping with materials for this project.

Only 31% of former foster youth in Miami Dade County are employed (according to FIU's 2008 Study on the Challenge of Housing Former Foster Youth in Miami Dade County).
At Casa Valentina, we encourage our residents, who are all full-time students, to seek part-time employment to help them save money for their futures. Sixty percent of our residents are currently employed.
